  Granny's Chocolate Chip Cookies      
1 small pkg. milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup of butter
6 Tbsp. granulated sugar
6 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/8 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2/3 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 375°. Blend butter, sugars, egg and vanilla together. In a separate bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Add blended butter mixture, chocolate chips, and nuts to dry ingredients. Drops of hot water may be added if cookie dough is not moist enough. Mix by hand. Use a teaspoon to make drops of cookie batter on a well greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-13 minutes.
